Teens Who Don't Date Are At Lower Risk Of Depression: Study

Experts associated with this research suggested that schools that promote the health of students should promote non-dating as a reason to stay healthy

A recent research study by University of Georgia has revealed that teenagers who have never been in a romantic relationship have a lower risk of depression than those who are dating. They also have better social skills as compared to others.

Brooke Douglas, lead author of this study, said that ''Ultimately, school health educators, mental health professionals and teachers should ensure that teenage boys and girls have the personal freedom to choose to date or not because both these options are acceptable and healthy."

In this study, 594 school students of class 10 were included. The researchers divided them into four categories. After this, questions were asked to them and after studying it, the conclusion was reached.

The results found in the research contradict the fact that the youth who do not date remain upset. Experts associated with this research suggested that schools that promote the health of students should promote non-dating as a reason to stay healthy.
