NIMHANS Develops A Tool To Measure People's Work Stress

NIMHANS is going to start its test soon in the coming days

National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) has developed a tool to measure mental stress through which people's work stress will be measured.

People can fill the answers to 16 questions without giving any information about themselves which will help their bosses to know which department is more stressful and why. When people working in a company fill up the IL questionnaire, after assessing it, they will be given a score on how they are handling stress and how they are managing their work.

The score of the questionnaire will be color coded – divided into green, yellow and red colors. This means – people with green category do not have any symptoms like stress. Yellow category people will need counseling and red category people will be advised to go to the doctor immediately.

This tool has been named TAWS 16, which will give information about stress related to people's work. Along with this, the tool will tell what kind of environment a person is working in, whether they need a lot of multitasking, they are getting help from their seniors or they are facing any kind of stress symptoms.

If media reports are to be believed, this will be the first such tool, which will help in measuring work stress. It will take 10 minutes to fill 16 questions present in this tool. It has been developed in 7 languages. NIMHANS is going to start its test soon in the coming days.
