Harnessing Collaborative Efforts To Address Hunger In India

On the role of social impact in creating an ecological balance, experts say that organic farming and food adoption can solve problems pertaining to public health, cancer risk, soil and ecological degradation

We have come up with the concept of 'share my dabba', which allows people to share their food if they don't want to consume the dabba. With this, we are able to feed 800 poor children every day. Moreover, only 5,000 delivery persons in Dabbawala deliver 2 lakh deliveries in a day.

This was stated by Dr Pawan Aggarwal (Mumbai Dabbawala), President - KECT Co - Chairman - Indian Academy of Entrepreneurship (IAE), while addressing at C20 Food and LiFE Conference. The Mumbai Dabbawala further conveyed that with a righteous motive, they can execute any work that they can think of for public good.

On the role of social impact in creating an ecological balance, Mr Nilesh from the NJ Group stated that with organic farming and organic food adoption, we can solve several problems at a time, including public health, cancer risk, soil degradation, and ecological degradation.

Mr. Sanjay Bhosale, who leads the Annamrita Foundation Pune on their journey of feeding the needy, delineated, "We founded the Annamrita Foundation around 2004, where we started with feeding five schools. But today we are feeding around 15 lakh students in more than 6,000 schools in India."

"Swami Prabhu Pada has given us a formula that constitutes chanting, dancing, and feasting, under which we share Prasad throughout the world," said Dr Gauranga Das, Director - Govardhan Ecovillage and Member & Governing Body Commissioner, ISKCON.

Dr K Venkatraman, Director, Bhaktivedanta Hospital & Research Institute, conveyed that the concept of our hospital is treatment for the body, mind, and soul. He mentioned, "At Bhaktivedanta Hospital, we introduced the concept of prayer, as with positive energy, treatment becomes more efficient. Other practises include calling the patient not by bed number but by their respective name. We even serve the food to the patient with love."
