Sahil Bansal - Co-founder and CEO, Fitelo

At the age of 15, after hitting a 110 Kgs, he decided to join the gym.

Sahil Bansal was obese since childhood. As he entered the teenage years, it started to bother him. While on one hand the awareness increased, getting body shamed by the peer group made it worse. It resulted in a low self-confidence and avoidance of social gatherings or public places.

At the age of 15, after hitting a 110 Kgs, he decided to join the gym. In the next 10 years, he tried every weight loss solution out there. The gym, supplements, crash diets, pills - he tried everything in the hope of finding a permanent solution. Every time he used to get some results initially. But it would all fail eventually and he kept gaining weight. It is then when he learnt the power of habit building and developed tools to do it practically, he was able to get rid of his childhood obesity permanently. Since then, he has gotten into a healthy lifestyle and is able to maintain his health without worrying a lot about it. For him, wellness is not just about having stunning looking food. Wellness means a healthy outside and healthy inside. Getting fit not only helped with the associated risk of diseases, it gave him a lot of confidence and helped him to do better personally and professionally. According to him wellness should be like a person’s nature. It should be a part of everyone’s day to day routine. It should not require any special efforts. It doesn’t require any drastic changes. It requires making small changes. Wellness is about having the right awareness and then taking steps to take charge of your own health.

He is on a mission to help 10 million people in the next 5 years to get healthy. His vision is to create a platform which can enable people to take charge of their own health. It will provide the right awareness, tools and resources that are needed by someone who is willing to get and stay healthy. He is passionate about building businesses that can solve real world problems. 20 years from now, he sees himself still doing it. Currently, he is building a business that can help people fight obesity and manage several lifestyle diseases. 20 years from now, he might be working with startups or companies to push humanity forward. He could be coaching young entrepreneurs who are driven by the same passion.
