Jigar Patel is one of the founders and CEO of Brillare Science and serves as the Chief Formulation Scientist. He is a first-generation entrepreneur and a research scientist with more than a decade of experience in formulating science. Fueled by his passion for creating a world-class Indian personal care brand, he started his entrepreneurial journey in December 2009 from a small 10 X 6 feet research lab in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. Being a founding member and CEO of Brillare, Jigar is responsible for end-to-end management of key departments like marketing and strategy, new product formulation, research and development and B2B sales activities. He has played a key role in developing a pan-India distribution network of more than 5000 salons. Before joining Brillare, Jigar was Director of Research and Development for Lincoln Pharmaceutical and was responsible for developing multiple novel drug delivery systems. During a short span of 3 years, he was awarded more than 23 patents proving his superior scientific expertise. Jigar has earned a Masters of Pharmaceutical from Ganpat University, Ahmedabad and a Bachelor of Pharmaceutical degree from KLE College of Pharmacy. His journey began 11 years ago, when he took the transition started Brillare, one of India’s first vegan and natural beauty brands. He has always held an innate interest in personal care products and would spend hours studying the ingredient lists or labels of upcoming formulations. Traditionally, the Indian cosmetics industry is driven by chemical-infused products that promise an instant transformation, which ultimately does more harm than good. His idea behind establishing Brillare was to address the real beauty concerns with science and nature and extend sustainable healing over a quick-fix approach. Under his leadership, Brillare delivers on the promise to make honest, scientific and efficacious personal care formulations that actually deliver. He has recently embarked on an ambitious goal to make Brillare India’s first personal care brand have an entire product range that is 100% Active, 100% Natural and 100% Vegan.
