How Nephrotic Syndrome Can Be Treated With Help Of Ayurveda

Nephrotic syndrome commonly affects a large number of children, which causes the kidneys to leak excessive volume of protein through urine which leads to retarded growth, hormonal imbalance, low production of amino acids, and various other complications. Nephrotic syndrome is a pathological condition of glomeruli in the kidney that results from increased permeability of the glomerular basement membrane to plasma protein which is characterized by excessive proteinuria, hypo-albuminemia, hypercholesterolemia, and edema. 

A nephrotic syndrome patients should take good care of themselves as this condition can cause problems such as swelling in legs and face due to water retention, weight gain, lack of protein, and High cholesterol (Hyperlipidaemia).

In Ayurveda, Nephrotic syndrome is defined as an increase in Kapha dosha, as well as the vitiation of rasadhatu, Ojas, mutra, and udaka, involving mutravaha and udakavaha srotas.

Nephrotic syndrome can be treated with the help of herbal medication that is anti-inflammatory prepared through Ayurvedic techniques that reduce the inflammation in the kidney.

Many nephrotic syndrome patients are given steroids as they are anti-inflammatory, but these steroids cannot be used for life-long as they can cause various health problems, such as weak eyesight, diabetes, high cholesterol, weight gain, and weak bones. It is also seen that patients with nephrotic syndrome tend to become resistant to steroids, which then doesn't work efficiently.
