The ministry’s portal is said to have details of all Indian hospitals, employees and physicians.

CERT-In, is a national nodal agency for responding to computer security incidents. It gives both prevention and response services to government departments and private bodies.

According to a the report by CloudSEK report further delineates that the attack is an aftermath of India's agreement over the oil price cap and G20 sanctions over the Russia-Ukraine war.

CloudSEK further added that the reason behind this target was that the Indian authorities decided not to violate the sanctions imposed against the Russian Federation. Moreover, they in turn comply with the price ceiling for Russian oil approved by G7 countries.

"This decision led to multiple polls on the Telegram channel of the Russian Hacktivist Phoenix asking the followers for their votes, it stated.

As per CloudSEK, Phoenix is known for phishing scams. It has been active since January 2022. Previously, it has targeting hospitals based in Japan and the UK.
