Cancer Cases In India Can Grow By 13% Till 2025, Warns ICMR

ICMR has said that the number of cancer patients in the country was 14 lakh in 2020, which has reached 14.61 lakh in 2022

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has issued an alert in view of the increasing risk of cancer. It has been said in the research that by 2025, cancer cases in India can increase by 13 per cent.

ICMR has said that the number of cancer patients in the country was 14 lakh in 2020, which has reached 14.61 lakh in 2022 which can increase up to 13 per cent in the next three years. In such a situation, there is a need to increase the prevention and awareness of this disease. 

Cancer is the leading cause of death in India among non-communicable diseases. This disease is spreading rapidly across the country. Cancer cases are increasing rapidly due to wrong eating habits and poor lifestyle. Bad lifestyle and wrong eating habits are increasing the risk of cancer. In the last decade, the trend of eating junk food has increased. The sleep pattern is getting worse, physical work has also reduced. Due to these reasons cancer cases are flourishing.

If cancer prevention is not done then this disease can take the form of an epidemic in the next few years.
